Quote of the Week
“Your week doesn’t have to be perfect to be good. Sometimes all it takes is one kind story, one good meal, one walk outside, or one reason to smile.”
GOOD NEWS AROUND CHATTANOOGA
A Birthday Wish That Helps Local Animals
One local girl decided she didn’t want birthday presents this year — she wanted donations for McKamey Animal Center instead.
That’s a pretty awesome reminder that you don’t have to be grown up to make a difference.
232 Animals Found Homes in April
McKamey Animal Center had a big month with 232 animals adopted in April.
That’s 232 second chances, 232 happy endings, and probably 232 couches that now belong to a dog or cat.
Mocs Golf Team Headed to NCAA Regionals
Big news for UTC — the Mocs golf team is headed to NCAA Regionals in Texas.
Always good to see Chattanooga athletes carrying the city name onto a bigger stage.
Local JROTC Cadet Recognized for Service
A local JROTC cadet was recognized with a scholarship for service, leadership, and making a difference.
This is the kind of young leadership Chattanooga should be proud of.

Listing of the Week
This week’s pick is a fully renovated home on Ashmore Ave in Chattanooga.
It’s listed at $249,900 and has that sweet spot a lot of buyers are hunting for right now: updated, move-in ready, and still close to North Shore and downtown without jumping into the higher price brackets.
For someone looking for a clean starter home, investment option, or downsizing move close to town, this one is worth a look.

DESTINATION OF THE WEEK
Godsey Ridge Trail — Red Bank
This week’s destination is Godsey Ridge Trail in Red Bank.
This is one of those spots that feels like a little local win. It gives Red Bank and the surrounding area another close-to-home outdoor option without having to drive across town or make a full-day production out of it.
It’s a great pick if you want:
• A simple walk outside
• A new trail to explore
• Something active after work
• A quick weekend reset
• A place to get some fresh air without overthinking it
Trailhead area:
Red Bank Community Center
3653 Tom Weathers Drive
Chattanooga, TN 37415

Sometimes the best destinations are the ones hiding right in the neighborhood.
That’s the Scoop
That’s it for this week’s Chattanooga’s Scoop.
If one of these stories made you smile, one event gave you weekend plans, or one listing made you curious, send this to somebody who likes keeping up with Chattanooga.
And if you know a local business, event, or hidden gem that deserves a spotlight, reply and send it my way.
See you around town,
Dan Hicks
